What does the labioplasty procedure involve?

Surgical reduction of the labia or correction of asymmetry between the labia is performed under local anesthesia or, at the patient’s request, under general anesthesia.

During the procedure to reduce the smaller labia, excess skin, subcutaneous tissue, and fat tissue are simultaneously removed.

Correction of the larger labia involves shaping and restoring their firmness by filling them with the patient’s fat, harvested from the navel area. It is also possible to inject so-called fillers, in this case derivatives of hyaluronic acid. Procedures to correct the larger labia are also performed due to their atrophy, usually related to weight loss or loss of elasticity with age.

Labioplasty can be combined with vaginoplasty in a single procedure.

How to prepare for a labiaplasty procedure?

The procedure is preceded by a consultation with a doctor along with a series of tests (blood group, complete blood count, urine test, coagulation, ECG over 40 years of age, HBS antigen, HCV, HIV, electrolytes, blood sugar level). Two weeks before the procedure, aspirin and its derivatives (e.g., Acard), vitamin E, as well as cough and flu medications should not be taken.
