Free knee pain treatment

This substance ensures smooth movement and reduces friction of the joint surfaces, while also serving as a source of nutrients for the cartilage.

The planned total duration of the clinical trial, within which we offer free treatment for pain caused by degenerative changes in the knee joint, is 24 weeks. During this time, the patient will have up to 6 free visits at the WILMED Specialist Clinic. At the first visit, after qualifying the patient for the study and treatment, the aforementioned drug or comparator substance will be administered. The first follow-up visit will take place 1 week after the injection. Subsequent consultations with the specialist will occur at weeks 6, 12, 18, and 24 from the first visit.

The treatment within the upcoming clinical trial is intended for individuals:

• adults of both sexes aged 40 to 80 years, with primary degenerative changes in the knee joint and
• moderate to severe pain;
• with symptoms present for at least three months (it is preferable if the patient has previous documentation of treatment for degenerative changes);
• who have a current X-ray of the knee joint(s) (not older than 12 months), recorded on a CD along with the examination report;

Individuals who cannot be included in the treatment within the study include, among others:

• those with post-traumatic degenerative changes in the knee joint;
• those with a replaced knee joint of the studied and treated knee;
• those who have undergone surgery on the target knee within the last 12 months;
• those with a serious knee injury within the last 6 months;
• obese individuals with a body mass index (BMI) ≥ 32 kg/m2;
• those treated with hyaluronic acid within the last year;

The above information will be detailed by the specialist during the qualifying visit for the study and treatment.

Additionally:

After completing participation in the study, Wilmed Clinic additionally offers a free injection of hyaluronic acid into the knee joint not covered by the study (in appropriate cases).
